The French Court of Appeal has finally ruled against the extradition of Sri Lankan organized criminal Sinharage Saminda Silva alias Kudu Anju, a top source familiar with the ruling said.
He was arrested in France last year. After his arrest, Sri Lanka sought his extradition since he had been accused of multiple criminal charges, including the murder of Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia Municipal Council member Ranjan de Silva and large-scale drug trafficking.

However, a lower court in France ruled against extradition. Afterwards, the Appeal Court of France was moved. Pending the final ruling, the court suspended his extradition.
Recently, the court had given its final ruling, upholding the previous ruling against the extradition. He was taken into custody by the French law enforcement authorities following a complaint filed by his wife over a personal dispute between the duo.
