Despite at least 40 COVID-19 patients being reported from the Estate areas in the Nuwara Eliya District, people were seen engaged in shopping ahead of the Deepavali festival.
The vendors also operated their shops without following the health guidelines as instructed by PHIs in the area.
The Deepavali festival is to be celebrated on Saturday (14).
