Three fundamental rights applications filed in regards to the controversial LNG power plant in Kerawalapitiya was taken up for consideration by the Supreme Court on March 15, 2019, it is learnt. The cases were filed by Lakdhanavi and some other interested parties. The state counsel who appeared for the Attorney General asked for more time to give the opinion in regards to the award of the tender. According to the minutes of the Cabinet, a decision had been taken on March 6 to award the tender to a Chinese consortium.
