Police issued a special circular allowing employees of 84 institutions including government agencies, corporations, statutory boards and the media to use their official identity cards as curfew passes.

“It has been observed that various employees of government and co-operative sectors and other essential services should report for duties because their service should be continued for the benefit of the public,” Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.

However, Police urged the employees not to use their official ID for private movements.

“We request all the employees to use their official ID as curfew pass only if they have been informed to report for duty,” the DIG said.
