Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) organisation yesterday urged current parliamentarian and Justice Minister Ali Sabry not to do politics with Muslim coronavirus victims.

Addressing the media yesterday at the BBS headquarters, it’s General Secretary Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera said this is a situation which politicians should not interfere with.

He said many discussions were raised in the country regarding Muslim COVID-19 victims.  “It is necessary to bury people if it is not a matter of health, burial is important. But the current situation in the country is different. The country is facing a deadly pandemic situation,” the Thera said.  “Unfortunately, the religiosity has been brought forward against the health authorities instructions and tries to create conflicts between the religions. The Government should take the decision over the cremation or burial of COVID-19 victims according to the instructions of the health authorities,” Ven. Gnanasara Thera said.

However, according to the current situation, it is essential to cremate than burial for the safety of the people who are living.
