The Sri Lanka Navy yesterday strongly denied the Daily Mirror news published on Wednesday, May 06th edition on page one under the heading ‘Navy withdraws from several Covid-19 operations’.
Sending a clarification the navy said that they strongly deny “the false information contained in the article reported by Indika Sri Aravinda under the above mentioned heading on May 06th”.
“Although, your journalist falsely reports, no operation of the SL Navy carried out in assistance of the national mechanism against Covid-19, has been terminated while the navy is contributing its full weight in the prevention activities of Covid-19,” the statement further said. The error is regretted.
