COPE and COPA New members likely to be announced during next p’mentary week

• Committee currently perusing list of names received from almost all parties representing Parliament

The names of new members to the Parliamentary Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) and Committee on Public Accounts (COPA) are likely to be announced by Speaker Karu Jayasuriya during the next parliamentary week commencing on February 5, a member of the selections committee said yesterday. 

The official who wished to remain anonymous said the list of names had been received from almost all parties representing Parliament and that the committee was going through the list at the moment. 

“It is likely that members of the main committees including COPE and COPA will be named during the next parliamentary week,” he said.
