Athula Senanayake passes away

Athula Senanayake, husband of Colombo Mayor Rosy Senanayake, passed away following a sudden illness at the age of 64 yesterday, sources said.  

 

Mr. Senanayake had been admitted to a private hospital in Colombo on Saturday and had passed away last afternoon.  
He was the son of former IGP Stanley Senanayake and a father of three.  

Sources said the remains of Mr. Senanayake would be brought to the Mayor’s residence today. The funeral arrangements are to be announced later.
