Six individuals including two women, who assaulted three Special Task Force (STF) officers during a raid on illegal sand mining, were ordered to be remanded till April 1 by Jaffna Magistrate S. Sadeeskaran yesterday.
The injured STF personnel had left the hospital after treatment.
Meanwhile, the STF and the police had beefed up security in the area where the incident took place.
The police have also launched a search operation to arrest more individuals involved in this racket.
