Arunalu People’s Front General Secretary Dr. K.R. Krishan said his party would support SLPP presidential candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the forthcoming election.
“Estate workers of Indian origin, numbering more than four hundred thousand and residing in Nuwara Eliya, Kandy, Badulla, Matale, Ratnapura, Kalutara, Galle, Matara and several other districts, are members of our front. In local authorities at the Nuwara Eliya District, there are nine councillors who are members of our front extending their support.
With their blessings, various activities have been planned throughout the estate sector in support of Mr. Rajapaksa to ensure his victory,” he said.
Estate workers and Tamil teachers’ organisations, Hindu Kurakkal Federation, Christian priests, the up-country business and urban communities and several others in the estate sector have joined hands with Arunalu People’s Front.
