Sri Lanka is set to launch its first nano satellite by July this year, Science and Technology Minister Sujeewa Senasinghe said.
He told a media conference on Monday that the Arthur C. Clarke Institute for Modern Technologies will handle the project and that a Japanese University was assisting Sri Lanka in this endeavour.
The minister said two Sri Lankan university students have already been sent for training. The satellite which is 10 cm long and 10 cm wide is expected to travel around the world taking photographs and collecting data.
