AG seeks Trial-at-Bar over Avant Garde case

The Attorney General has requested the Chief Justice to appoint a Trial-at-Bar to hear the case in which Nissanka Senadhipathi and 13 others are to be indicted in Colombo High Court over the illegal possession of 816 firearms and 202,935 bullets in connection with the Avant Garde floating armoury incident.   

The AG will indict the accused on 7573 counts in the Colombo High Court over the incident.  


Other accused are: Rakna Lanka Company, Avant Garde Services Company, Palitha Fernando, K. Egodawela, B. Premachandran, V. Samaraweera, D. A. Thilakaratne, N. Senarathne, N. Diyabalanage, N. de Zoysa, Saman Dissanayake, D. Jayaratne and an Ukraine national.
