Over 500 luxury vehicles are stuck at the Colombo Port and have yet to be cleared as a result of the crisis in the country.

The vehicles had been imported to Sri Lanka just as the coronavirus pandemic resulted in a curfew being imposed in the country.  Additional Managing Director at the Sri Lanka Ports Authority Upali de Zoysa told Daily Mirror that even by yesterday (Wednesday) the owners of the imported vehicles did not come forward to clear them.
He said that the vehicles have been at the port since March 16, adding to the congestion already in the port as a result of several uncleared containers in the premises.  Some 29,500 containers of imported items are still at the port resulting in a congestion.

De Zoysa said the containers are stranded at the Colombo International Container Terminal (CICT), Jaya Container Terminal (JCT) and at the South Asia Gateway Terminals Ltd. (SAGT).
