Thirty one people including 26 schoolchildren were injured when a ‘Sisu Seriya’ school bus and a bus transporting garment employees at Thalgodapitiya in Gokarella collided head-on last morning, Police said.
They said the school bus was travelling towards Kurunegala from Melsiripura while the other bus was travelling from Ibbagamuwa to Dambulla. The buses collided when the school bus attempted to overtake another vehicle.
The injured students and three badly injured garment employees and the two bus drivers were admitted to the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital.
