A person who died in the Intensive Care Unit of the Colombo National Hospital yesterday had been identified as a COVID-19 patient, the Government Information Department said yesterday.
The person, 70, is a resident of Colombo. He was admitted to hospital on October 23 over a germ infection in his blood. This is the 16th death related to COVID-19 in Sri Lanka.
