13th Covid-19 death reported in Sri Lanka

• The deceased, who had worked as a sailor arrived in Sri Lanka on September 02  
• The immediate cause of death has been identified as a heart attack

A 60-year-old male, who returned from Bahrain and being treated at the Chilaw General Hospital, died due to Covid-19 yesterday, reporting the thirteenth death from the virus infection in Sri Lanka, health authorities confirmed.    

Chief Epidemiologist of the Epidemiology Unit Dr. Sudath Samaraweera said the deceased, who had worked as a sailor arrived in Sri Lanka on September 02.  

 

• He had not been diagnosed with the coronavirus upon arrival but was  admitted to the Chilaw General Hospital last Wednesday (9) while in  quarantine

The deceased named W.E. Perera is a resident of Nugegoda.
