A total of 138 persons from Rajagiriya, Kolonnawa and Kolabissa in Kandy were sent to quarantine centres after one Covid-19 positive case was identified from each area, Army Commander Shavendra Silva said.
He also said that the army officer who passed away in Dambulla on Monday had been frequently affected by fits. However, a postmortem was to be conducted to ascertain the reason of the death.
Nearly 50,000 persons have been quarantined in centres so far while another 88,000 persons have been under self quarantine in their homes, according to sources.
