Regional Head of Middle Market Enterprises in town

Tim Evans, the Regional Head of Middle Market Enterprises, Asia Pacific HSBC who oversees 19 markets including Sri Lanka, is in the country on a two-day visit to meet with customers, senior management and staff of the bank.

Prior to his current posting, he was the Regional Head of Global Trade & Receivables Finance for a period of 3 years covering the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region consisting of a presence in 10 countries. Preceding which, Tim was the Chief Operating Officer of the Commercial Banking business of HSBC in the MENA region for a period of 2 years. Before that he ran the Wells Fargo HSBC Trade Bank, a standalone bank based in California which was an equity joint venture between Wells Fargo and the HSBC Group, and was the only nationally chartered bank in the United States dedicated exclusively to the finance of international trade.

Tim has also served HSBC and its customers in various capacities in France, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates.

He currently holds a BA Joint Degree in International Business, with French & German, from Loughborough University, UK, and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers.

Tim was born in Beirut, Lebanon, and was subsequently raised in Lebanon, Pakistan, South Africa, Holland, Switzerland and the UK. He speaks three languages (English, French, & Dutch) and currently resides in Hong Kong.
