People’s Bank welcomes New Year with multi-religious observances

A ceremony was held recently to usher in the New Year at the Head Office of People’s Bank where the staff assumed duties by pledging the Government Service Oath. 


A ceremonial chanting of Seth Pirith followed by multi-religious observances also took place as part of 
the ceremony.


The gathering was addressed by Sujeewa Rajapakse – Chairman and Ranjith Kodituwakku – CEO/GM of People’s Bank. 


Addressing the gathering Rajapakse reiterated the bank’s commitment to support development of the economy in the New Year in line with the Vistas of Prosperity policy framework. He also thanked the staff members for the unstinted support extended during an unprecedented year.


Kodituwakku, in his address stated that bank will be focusing on areas such as continuation of strong financial performance, digital drive and service quality in the New Year with the support of all staff members and the Board of Directors. He also expressed his appreciation for the immense contribution made by the staff to navigate successfully through a year filled with challenges. 


While the event at the Head Office was attended by the corporate & executive management, representatives of trade unions, representatives of religious organizations and other voluntary organizations and all team members, simultaneously in branches all over the country similar events took place with staff members pledging the Public Service Oath in welcoming of the New Year.
