Ceyline, on behalf of Ceylon Shipping Corporation (CSC), successfully delivered six locomotives and 24 train carriages to Sri Lanka Railways, yesterday.

These diesel multiple units (DMUs) were loaded in Qingdao, China and safely discharged at the BQ4 berth in the Colombo Port.

Ceyline won the CSC tender to provide logistics for this purchase made by Sri Lanka Railways.

“We take great pride in completing this project successfully. This is a special type of operation that requires precise planning and execution. Our project team performed exceptionally,” stated Ceyline Group Business Development Director Mevan Peiris.

The project team at Ceyline was headed by Krishantha Alwis and Channa Abeygunarwardena.

“We are willing to go that extra mile to get the job done. We even stationed personnel in the Qingdao Port to ensure the loading operation goes smoothly. I want to thank Ceylon Shipping Corporation, officials at the Qingdao Port, the master and crew of vessel Da Qing Xia, COSCO Shipping, Sri Lanka Ports Authority personnel and Sri Lanka Railways, who all worked with us as one team to ensure the cargo was delivered safely and on time,” said Peiris.
