SLID holds annual wine, dine, comedy theatre

The recipe for a sumptuous night out: a world-renowned comedian, a talented songstress, a harmonious orchestra, and delectable cuisine, with a praise-worthy cause.
 

 

The Sri Lanka Institute of Directors (SLID) hosted their guests to just such an occasion on November 27th at t he Cinnamon Grand.Over 300 directors and their guests who sat to wine and dine over an elegant 6 course dinner with tasteful entertainment throughout the evening.The annual sit down dinner was held for the second consecutive year t o raise funds for the free workshops that SLID conducts in cities throughout Sri Lanka. SLID believes that providing the country’s corporates, particularly the growing number of SMEs, with knowledge of the regulatory framework and a greater understanding of positive corporate behavioural values, will contribute to economic development.

 


Rather than limiting these benefits to Colombo alone, the workshops have already taken place in Kandy, Ratnapura, Gampaha, Hambanthota, Jaffna, Trincomalee, Kilinochchi, and Matara.Jeff Mirza, the award winning comedian who had flown down from London specially for the SLID event, made his grand entrance heralded by the sounds of his trade mark bhangra music.
