Former President Maithripala Sirisena accepted money collected from people on the street, even from a beggar, by Sudaththa Thilakasiri, a YouTube activist to pay as compensation for the Easter Sunday terror attack victims. Sirisena, who was ordered by court to pay the compensation, accepted the approximately Rs. 1800 from the activist and said that he was prepared to even take to the streets to collect money.
