SLT Chairman P.G. Kumarasinghe Sirisena hands over the collected items to Disaster Management Minister Anura Pridarshana Yapa

In response to the calamity faced by many Sri Lankans during the recent extreme weather conditions, Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) enabled its head office and regional offices as collection centres to collect essential items for distribution to those in affected areas.

A significant amount of items were collected such as dry rations, clothing items etc. from employees as well as members of the public at these island-wide collection centres. SLT Mobitel (Pvt) Ltd. also contributed towards collecting essential items for distribution to victims.

The collected items were officially handed over by SLT Chairman P.G. Kumarasinghe Sirisena to Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, Minister of Disaster Management. With the assistance and support of the Disaster Management Centre, National Youth Centre and the Independent Television Network (ITN), the items will be distributed to the affected areas as required.

SLT extends appreciation to all those who contributed generously towards this cause.
