SDB bank organised a special award ceremony for Lakdaru account holders who have qualified grade five scholarship examinations in 2017, G.C.E. O/L examinations in 2016 and Facebook Art Competition winners and the grand felicitation was held at the National Youth Centre, Maharagama on January 27th 2018, which gathered over 1,500 participants.
SDB bank Senior Director Lakshman Abeysekera graced the occasion as chief guest. Respected guests participated for the occasion are SDB Bank General Manager/Chief Executive Officer Nimal C. Hapuarachchi and SDB Bank Chief Operating Officer Kumar Mayadunne, along with top management of SDB Bank.
‘Lakdaru’ account holders who have qualified the grade five scholarships in 2017 and G.C.E. O/L with flying colours were rewarded with medals, certificates and other valuable gifts. Lakdaru account holders who are within the island top 25 were eligible to receive Rs.20,000 worth of Dayada Investment Certificate. Further to the above, awards were presented to the winners of the SDB official Facebook page art competition which was held in line with World Children’s Day.
It was a memorable day for the grade five scholarship achievers and at the same time a day which they can be proud of their success.
SDB Bank had organised an islandwide Lakdaru Scholarship Seminar Series for Grade-five students with 57 seminars in 2017 and planning for a Lakdaru Scholarship Seminar Series for the year 2018 too. This will be carried out as a CSR project and few of the seminars will be from Tamil medium too.
