Being at the forefront of corporate reporting, Mercantile Investments and Finance PLC (MI) clinched the ‘All Island Silver’ award in Best Corporate Social Responsibility Reporting at the recently held CA Annual Report Awards Ceremony at BMICH, where Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe graced the event as Chief Guest.
MI, having established itself as a renowned institution in the finance company sector, with over 50 years of resounding success, further expanded its presence in the last decade and has always taken the initiative to make a lasting difference in people’s lives and livelihoods, going even beyond commercial boundaries. As another initiative, through MI’s budding micro finance operation, the company has enriched communities across the country, empowering women to improve their family’s living standards.
True to MI’s ethos, going that extra mile to help society, its social responsibility initiatives launched each year have helped the less fortunate and under privileged meet various needs, which would otherwise go unattended. MI’s unique corporate culture has not only enriched lives beyond its doorstep but also those who work within. For the second time, MI was recognised as a ‘great place to work’ by the Great Place to Work Institute for 2017, which highlights MI’s people centric approach and professional management culture. Therefore, wining this award reinforces MI’s standing among society and recognizes the company’s efforts in giving back to people.
