Preparing for Thai Pongal

Hindus turned out in their numbers this evening to buy goods from Pettah to celebrate the Thai Pongal festival which falls tomorrow. This is the first Thai Pongal celebration in the country after the end of the war.  Pics by Pradeep Pathirana
