Lunar eclipse visible to Sri Lanka

Lunar eclipse began at 10.54 pm yesterday and ended at 4.30 am today. The total eclipse began at 12.52 am and the point of greatest eclipse occured at 1.42 am. A lunar eclipse occurs when the moon passes behind the earth so that the earth blocks the sun's rays from striking the moon.
