Karandeniya triple murder case suspects remanded

A father and son allegedly involved in the triple murder at Karandeniya in Kotawela were checked by the Elpitiya Base Hospital JMO Dr.Susantha Lelwala, prior to being produced before the Elpitiya Acting Magistrate Munidasa Halpandeniya.

The suspects who were identified as Peduruhewage Siripala (57) and Imesh Nissanka (26) were remanded till May 6.

The suspects were taken out of the Elpitiya hospital premises under tight security provided by Karandeniya Sub Inspector S T Aselani, Police Sergeant 2061 Ranasinghe and other police officers.

A large crowd had gathered at the hospital premises on hearing that the suspects were being brought to the Elpitiya Hospital. (Janath De Silva)
