The picture shows villagers processing dry fish at the Puttalam beach. The Puttalam villagers claim that it’s cheaper to buy fish from areas such as Trincomalee and Mannar and process them rather than buying the fish from Puttalam which is expensive compared with other areas. Pix by Hiran Priyankara
