Elephant run over by train at Habarana

A  wild elephant was run over by the Batticaloa bound night mail from Colombo at  Habarana early this morning. Train services to Batticaloa were halted by around two hours until the carcass was removed. Wildlife Conservation Officials said the male elephant was around 30 years old.
