Baby elephant found

An injured and allegedly maltreated baby elephant was found in the residence of UNP Western Provincial Councillor Kithsiri Kahatapitiya in Pokunuwita, Horana last Saturday. Following intelligence reports, Deputy Wildlife Minister Wasantha Senanayake accompanied by a team of Wildlife Officers and Horana police officers raided Mr. Kahatapitiya’s residence where they found the sick baby elephant.
