Several academic staffers of the Open University of Sri Lanka staged a protest outside the university today urging the President to stop politicising Vice Chancellor (VC) appointment. The tenure of the incumbent VC of the Open University is due to terminate today. Although three eligible names have been proposed for the post, the protestors claim that there is a move to make a political appointment withdrawing all the proposed names.
