The Sri Lanka Railways on Saturday commenced a special train for local and foreign tourists from Kandy to Ella.The train will depart Kandy at 7:00 AM and reach the Demodara Railway Station at 2:20 PM on a daily basis. The return journey will commence at 3:40 PM from the Demodara Station and reach Kandy at 9:35 PM.
The train is named “Ella ODESSEY” and comprised with 176 air conditioned first class seats, 144 second class seats and a restaurant.
The train will stops at stations with tourist attraction locations such as St. Clair’s water falls, Grate Western station, Elgin Fall, Summit, Tunnel no 18, Idalgashinna station. 7 Arch Bridge, Demodara Tunnel and bridge. Pix by Kithsiri de Mel
