A gale force wind that hit Nattandiya town this morning caused extensive damage to about ten houses and to the power supply mains. The transport in the area was also obstructed by falling trees. The Puttalam District Disaster Management Centre said the gale and torrential rain lasted for about three minutes and had blown through the Mudukattuwa and Nattandiya areas. Pix by Jude Samantha
