300 rescued

At least 300 people from 67 families were displaced in the Thambapanniya 1 and 2 areas which were inundated after the sluice gates of the Thabbowa reservoir were opened. The displaced were rescued by the Navy on boats moved them to safer places. Pix by Hiran Priyankara Jayasinghe
