SL secures bid to host ’Miss Tourism World 2022’ grand finale

'Miss Tourism World 2022' will host its grand finale in Sri Lanka this December from 8th to 21st with 80 winners from 80 countries. 

Sri Lanka secured the opportunity to host the event after competing with 15 countries, said National Director of 'Miss Tourism World 2022' Pagent Malith Ranasinghe and the Coordinating Secretary to State Tourism Ministry and Chief Advisor Dr. Arosha Fernando.

“As you would appreciate, a lot of hard work went into achieving this success with the fullest support from the government of Sri Lanka as well as from the industry” said Ranasinghe. 

“This is one of the top five pageants globally which they have continually conducted for the past 74 years, and this year they celebrate 75th Anniversary in Sri Lanka'' he added.

"This event undoubtedly will be one of the best platforms to promote the tourism sector in Sri Lanka at this crucial hour. Contestants from 80 Countries will spend 2 weeks in Sri Lanka from 8th to 21st December attending 80 mini pageants and the grand finale,” said Dr. Fernando.

“During this process, they will visit Kandy, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya, Habarana, Ella, Arugam Bay, Mirissa, Galle etc.,” he added.

Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts welcomed Global Director of 'Miss Tourism World - International Finale 2022'  David Singh and 'Miss Tourism World - Spain 2022' winner  Maria Del Carmen Benedicto who arrived in Sri Lanka this week for the official press conference scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday).
