CSE halts trading minutes after market opening

The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) halted trading today as the S&P SL20 index dropped over 5 percent from the previous close.
The trading halt was imposed just eleven (11) minutes after the market was open. The market has been halted for five (05) minutes, from 10.11 a.m to 10.16 a.m. The CSE in a notice said it will conduct an auction session for a duration of twenty-five (25) minutes (from 10.16 a.m to 10.41 a.m).
Thereafter, the Regular Trading session will commence at 10.41 a.m.
Trading was halted at the Colombo bourse yesterday as well as the S&P SL20 index dropped over 5 percent from the previous close.
