Top bankers in ME on biz mission

In an effort to encourage investors in the Middle East to set up businesses in Sri Lanka, top heads of the country’s banking sector had been on a short visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabiya (KSA), Mirror Business learns. 
Mirror Business learns that the Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran along with top heads of state and private sector banks were in the Kingdom to promote the nation as an investment destination. 
The purpose of the visit was also to get an awareness about the areas Arabian investors are keen on exploring in Sri Lanka.
Accompanying the CB Chief were senior officials from Hatton National Bank (HNB), Bank of Ceylon, Seylan Bank, among others.
It is learnt that the team met with the Kingdom’s senior banking officials and top business profiles, both in Jeddah and Riyadh.
The local bank heads were due to return last evening.
