13 August 2016 12:00 am

The Department of Dietetics, Apollo Hospitals Group organises an annual conference to provide a great platform and distinguished opportunity to healthcare professionals in order to highlight the latest advancements and challenges in the field of clinical nutrition. The success of the past seven AICNUs at various regions in India has helped us progress to the eighth AICNU to be held in Colombo. The annual AICNU is designed to provide healthcare practitioners with an understanding of the central role of nutrition in healthcare setting.

This conference will highlight some of the most important topics that cover prominent features of better healthcare and aims at improving the knowledge of nutrition professionals towards better clinical nutrition practice.

The eighth Annual AICNU Conference 2016 is scheduled to be held at Hotel Cinnamon Lakeside, on August 13 and 14, 2016.

The scientific programme includes a wide range of lectures, symposia, abstracts sessions, discussions and presentations related to the field of clinical nutrition.
Apollo Hospitals Group Executive Chairman Dr. Prathap Reddy said, “To preserve the health of the nation, it is imperative that the various stakeholders in the ecosystem should com e together and work collectively. The theme of this year’s conference resonates with the above thought and is aptly titled – Building Excellence and not Islands of Knowledge. It has been clearly demonstrated all over the world that failure to meet the nutritional needs of a hospitalized patient delays recovery from major illness. Hospital-based nutritional intervention is a team effort which involves optimal contribution from the treating physician or surgeon, dietitian/clinical nutritionist and nursing care.”
AICNU is pleased to have Prof. Pierre Singer, Professor of Anesthesia and Intensive Care, Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, Tel Aviv, Israel, (Past President – ESPEN), as one of the  distinguished speakers.

This year’s conference showcases some of the world’s finest experts in clinical nutrition. Over 350 delegates from 11 countries are participating. Seventy five research abstracts have been received for this year’s conference and four eminent specialists have adjudged the prize winning abstracts.
