SLCHBC representatives meet with new Chinese Ambassador

Senior Executive Committee members of the Sri Lanka-China Business Council (SLCHBC) recently met with the new Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Sri Lanka, Yi Xianliang. 
The members of the SLCHBC Ex-Co in attendance were SLCHBC President Navindra Abeysekera, SLCHBC Senior Vice President K. Kunendran, SLCHBC Vice President Yasantha Abeykoon and Rovina Vandersay, representing the Chamber of Commerce Secretariat. Yu Jiamu was also present, representing the Chinese Embassy.
Some of the key areas of discussion were ways in which the companies of each country could have better private sector partnerships and joint ventures with each other, as well as the potential and opportunity for exports from Sri Lanka. 
SLCHBC President Navindra Abeyesekera presented Ambassador Yi Xianliang with copies of newsletters previously published by the council, which are in both English and Mandarin, and are circularized to Business Chambers in China and also to the Sri Lankan members. The SLCHBC President also explained to the ambassador the development initiatives made with regards to the website and its ranking in some of China’s largest search engines. 
The meeting adjourned with Abeysekera and Xianliang renewing the strong existing ties, with a commitment towards even better cooperation and partnership in the future with the SLCHBC and between Sri Lanka and China.
