Senthilverl ups Watawala stake over 10%

High-net-worth investor Dr. T. Senthilverl has upped his stake in Watawala Plantations PLC over 10 percent.

As at March 31, 2015, Dr. Senthilverl, through margin facilities from Sampath Bank and Seylan Bank, held 9.58 percent of Watawala Plantation as the second single largest shareholder of the company.

Equities brokerage Bartleet Religare Securities said its client Dr. Senthilverl on June 19 bought 457,301 Watawala shares within a price range of Rs.22.50 to Rs.23.
This purchase has increased Dr. Senthilverl’s holding in Watawala Plantation to 10.05 percent.

Estate Management Services (Pvt.) Limited is the largest shareholder of Watawala Plantation with over a 75 percent stake in the company as at March 31, 2015.
