The Colombo Stock Exchange announced that Pegasus Hotels of Ceylon PLC, a subsidiary of the Carson Cumberbatch group, has been transferred from the Main Board to the secondary Diri Savi Board upon a request of the company.

Mirror Business earlier reported that the company has been divesting portions of its shares, possibly to remain listed in the secondary board.

Carsons divested 904,219 Pegasus Hotels shares in July, representing 2.98 percent of the total.

For the quarter ended June 30, Carsons owned 92.96 percent of the shares represented by 28.25 million shares.

According to the minimum public float rules set to be enforced in December 2016, a company in the Main Board should have a minimum public shareholding of 20 percent, while entities in the Diri Savi Board should have a float of 10 percent.

A handful of companies have already delisted, while Carsons will be delisting its 4 plantation companies in the near future.

Pegasus Hotels owns and operates Pegasus Reef Hotel in Wattala and Giritale Hotel in Polonnaruwa. It recently conducted a major renovation programme in Pegasus Reef Hotel.
