Pakistan mega trade exhibition, B2B meetings to kick off on Jan. 15

The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) in collaboration with the High Commission of Pakistan, Colombo will hold a mega single country exhibition from January 15 to 17, 2016, at the BMICH Colombo.
Titled ‘Sharing the Legacy’, the exhibition will bring the colours of Pakistan, new business partnership opportunities, Pakistan textile traditions, art, culture and cuisine under one roof.  With the participation of around 150 exhibitors, the exhibition will showcase the following sectors: automobiles of all kind, engineering, auto parts, textile and clothing, carpets, pharmaceuticals, agri/food, designer wear, gems and jewellery, traditional textiles, handicraft and marble. 
The Sri Lanka-Pakistan Business Council of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Export Development Board (EDB) will set up business-to-business (B2B) meetings with Pakistan-Sri Lanka businessmen during the event.
Pakistan is the second largest trading partner of Sri Lanka in the South Asian region, while the two countries have a free trade agreement (FTA) in place, which became operational during the year 2005.
Pakistan believes trade between the two nations may go up to a total sum of the US $ 1 billion in the future, with optimum utilization of the existing FTA.
