Plastic Pakaging Pte Ltd which manufactures and exports very thin film polythene bags and sheets from 3 microns upwards to the UK and Maldives for the last 28 years recently manufactured a polythene-free Compostable and Biodegradable lunch sheet for the Sri Lankan market. These sheets which do not have any polythene is certified, by Din Certco to meet all of the requirements of EN13432 - 2000 and by Vincotte, to meet both EN 13432 – 2000.

“Naturplus” (as these compostable bags & sheets are called) are manufactured using a special resin, a Biodegradable and Compostable Corn Starch Resin. These sheets can be used to wrap food as a substitute for the traditional lunch sheets. The advantage is that this special resin cannot be mixed with any other polythene or recycled polythene.

These sheets tend to stretch more than a normal polythene lunch sheet and can be identified as these sheets are silky, softer and can stretch more.
