Malin Hapugoda steps down from Aitken Spence Hotels, Browns Beach

Aitken Spence Hotels Holdings PLC and Browns Beach PLC director Malin Hapugoda has resigned from the said positions from June 30, 2015, the company said in a CSE disclosure.

Hapugoda was the head of the Aitken Spence group’s hotel sector till July 2014 and continued as a full-time director/executive consultant.

He is a professional hotelier counting many years of managerial experience at senior level within several hotel companies.

He is an Honorary Member (Past President) of the Tourist Hotels’ Association of Sri Lanka and a Member of the Tourism Cluster of the National Council for Economic Development (NCED).

He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management, UK and a graduate of the Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism & Hotel Management (SLITHM) and is a Fellow and founder President of the Ceylon Hotel School Graduates Association.

He holds a Diploma in Hospitality, Restaurant and Institutional Administration from Rayerson Institute of Technology, Toronto, Canada.
