Indian trade delegation to visit Jaffna International Trade Fair

A 60-member trade delegation from the Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be visiting Sri Lanka to participate in the upcoming Jaffna International Trade Fair (JITF), scheduled from January 29 – 31, 2016. 

The President of the Chamber along with leading businessmen and industrialists representing various business sectors such as food processing, agriculture commodities, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, jewellery and FMCG have planned to visit Jaffna during the trade show for meetings and investment opportunities.  
The main object of the trade delegation is to explore opportunities related to the promotion of trade and industry, export opportunities, facilities for establishing joint venture projects and to promote bilateral trade and economic co-operation between South India and Sri Lanka.

The JITF 2016 exhibition, which has grown to a ‘must attend’ event by the citizens, businessman, traders and entrepreneurs of the North, will be held at the Municipal Grounds in Jaffna. The trade fair comprises both local and international stalls catering to a diverse variety of needs and services.

In 2015, the event attracted an audience of over 60,000 visitors. It is considered the single most focal point for a wide spectrum of investors and citizens.
The exhibition will feature the construction industry, hospitality industry, food, beverage and packing industry, automobile industry, ICT industry, financial services, apparel, agricultural, consumer goods and many others, which will be on show during the three days.

The organisers have planned many concurrent events during the 2016 edition, some of the highlights will include, a two-day musical evening with popular artistes, road show prior to the expo, children’s carnival and amusement park and much more. The organisers will also assist all industry professionals to meet with the delegation from India.
