Hameedia’s Hussain Sadique in new strategic role

Hameedia (Pvt.) Ltd Deputy Managing Director Hussain Sadique, who headed the group’s operations will exit the group’s Management Committee in order to function in a strategic business capacity outside the core business sector. 

The youngest of the three brothers at the helm of Hameedia, Sadique who joined the family business just after schooling, rose to be its Deputy Managing Director, and completes 30 years this year.
He is set to exit the Management Committee of the Hameedia group and head new projects and ventures outside the group’s core business sector, while harnessing his experience and function in a strategic capacity.
“Hameedia has adapted and thrived amid the changes in the industry and expanded its footprint while pioneering business benchmarks and industry firsts. The company has served three generations of customers, worked with three generations of employees and partnered with three generations of suppliers. It is now poised to welcome the third generation of leadership within the company to bolster it to the next level and become a local brand with a global reach and focus,” Sadique said. 
Sadique is a life member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors, Founder Director of Alif International School and Northwood College, founder member of Sri Lanka Master Tailors Association, founder member of the former domestic garment industry association (currently Sri Lankan Apparel Brand Association), an associate member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) and founder Chairman of the Aluthgama Development Foundation.
