The Exporters’ Association of Sri Lanka (EASL) extended its congratulations to the United National Front for Good Governance, the coalition led by the United National Party, for its decisive victory at the just-concluded Parliamentary general elections.
The EASL is looking forward to government’s facilitation to reach the $50 billion export target as enunciated by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce at its recently concluded Economic Summit.

''The EASL is looking forward to government’s facilitation to reach the $50 billion export target as enunciated by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce at its recently concluded Economic Summit''

It endorses and reiterates the direction advised by the Chamber that the government must engage with the relevant stake holders and develop prudent strategies which address the critical challenges the Nation and indeed, the Export sector currently face.
EASL further stated that it is vital to address the constraints that stifle development and growth within the country which compels Sri Lankan companies to seek to set up bases in other hubs in the region, in order to achieve their growth potential. Capacity building through education and development of skills within the industry together with dialogue and transparency in decision making processes by export-related organizations within the government will ensure their relevance going forward.
