Yet another phase of a series of forums was carried out by EWIS with the collaboration of the Education Ministry and Provincial Education Department on educating principals and teachers of the Secondary Schools Technological Lab Project initiated by Education Ministry was held recently in Jaffna.

One hundred and fifteen teachers and principals of 57 schools of the Northern Province and regional officials of the Education Ministry participated in the event. The main objective of the forum was to discuss the practical challenges that arise in the usage of the laboratories implemented under the above project. The event also included a segment on educating the school teachers and principals regarding the appropriate usage and maintenance of computer hardware and software, maintenance of laboratories and troubleshooting procedures.

EWIS has scheduled these forums on a regularly basis, covering all provinces throughout the country. EWIS believes these initiatives will provide the children of our nation an opportunity to reap the benefits of the technological advances using these laboratories in an effective manner.

Moreover, EWIS considers this series of forums as a great opportunity to build and maintain long-term relationships with principals and teachers of the schools to improve the efficiency, quality and consistency of service delivered under the Secondary School Technological Lab Project.

EWIS computers installed in these laboratories are manufactured in Sri Lanka’s first-ever PC manufacturing plant developed by EWIS which is situated in Sooriyawawa.
