Highways and Investment Promotions Deputy Minister Eran Wickremaratne said that he will reveal major irregularities hitherto unknown by the Parliament today.

“The government undertook projects with hundreds of billions of rupees in unpaid bills, which the Parliament doesn’t know about and tomorrow I will be able to give a precise number,” the minister spoke at a forum organised yesterday.

He said that the government going forward will only advertise tenders on newspapers to open for bidding and that unsolicited proposals will be controlled and turned into bidding as well, where the originator of the proposal will be given a minute advantage.

He further added that the politician has become a king in the country, which needs to be changed. (CW)
